Green Mountain Junior Baseball Association (GMJBA) is committed to administering a sponsorship program for each baseball season. Money raised for the sponsorship program by any team will directly benefit that team by defraying team costs. Money raised by GMJBA that is not tied to any particular team helps to reduce the overall costs of operation for GMJBA, which in turn helps to reduce registration fees for all players. The Sponsorship Director shall be responsible to supervise the overall administration of the Sponsorship Program.
New Sponsor -
an individual, business or organization who contributes to GMJBA for the first time.
Existing Sponsor -
an individual, business or organization who has contributed to GMJBA in the past year or longer.
Full Sponsor -
an individual, business, or organization who contributes either:
at least $250.00 for a Junior league team, or
at least $150.00 for a Pee-Wee league team.
Partial Sponsor -
An individual, business, or organization who contributes less than a full sponsorship.
Affiliated Sponsor -
A sponsor who has been recruited by a member of a specific team, such as a team player, team coach, or team parent.
Unaffiliated Sponsor -
A sponsor that has been obtained by a representative of GMJBA or other means that is not tied to any specific team, or is not recruited by any specific team.
In Kind Sponsor -
A sponsor who donates goods or services other than cash.
Master Banner -
A banner that advertises the name of the sponsor which is to be displayed at all JCJBL games by the sponsoring team. All Master Banners will be 3’ x 3’ in size and made from 14 oz. reinforced vinyl with grommets. The background color will be gloss black with gold lettering. All Master Banners will say Green Mountain Baseball across the top. A Master Banner may list up to 5 sponsors. Only full sponsors will be listed on a Green mountain Baseball Master Banner. Previously issued banners will remain in use as long as the appropriate fees are paid.
Benefiting team -
A team that receives the benefit of a full or partial sponsorship.
Sponsorship Deadline -
April 1st of each year.
Sponsors may be obtained by a member of the GMJBA board, a player, a coach, a parent of a player, or an individual representing a team.
Unaffiliated Sponsors are considered a GMJBA sponsor and are not to be contacted by any other member of the GMJBA, including players, coaches, parents of players, or an individual representing a team. An unaffiliated sponsor will be assigned to a team for the purpose of trying to make sure each team in the association has at least one sponsor, when possible. These unaffiliated sponsors will be contacted by the sponsorship director or other member of the GMJBA Board of Directors prior to each season regarding the renewal of their sponsorship. Once an unaffiliated sponsor stops sponsoring a team, they become eligible for contact by any player, coach, parent of a player, or team representative for the purpose of becoming an affiliated sponsor;
Affiliated Sponsors are not considered a GMJBA sponsor and will be assigned to the benefiting team as directed by the sponsor.
A full sponsor paying a minimum of $250.00 will receive the benefits as described in the Sponsor Benefits Section below.
The cost of placing the first sponsors name on a 3’X 3’ banner will be $50.00 (this is the creation of a new banner). This amount will be deducted from the sponsorship proceeds. If the full sponsor is an affiliated sponsor, the balance of the proceeds will be placed in a sponsorship account to be used by the benefiting team.
A second full affiliated sponsorship wishing to be listed on the Master Banner will have $20.00 deducted from the $250.00 and the balance of proceeds deposited into the benefiting teams sponsorship account. This process maybe repeated until 5 names (full sponsors) are listed on a banner. After the banner is full a new master will be started by the benefiting team.
If the sponsor is an unaffiliated sponsor, the balance of proceeds shall flow to the GMJBA operating account to be used to offset general operating expenses.
A full sponsor may decline being listed on the master banner in which case the entire proceeds of the sponsorship will be placed in a sponsorship account to be used by the benefiting team (affiliated sponsor) or flow to the GMJBA operating account (unaffiliated sponsor).
A partial sponsor will not be entitled to have a banner displayed. If the partial sponsor is an affiliated sponsor, the proceeds will be placed in a sponsorship account to be used by the benefiting team. If the partial sponsor is an unaffiliated sponsor, the proceeds shall flow to the GMJBA operating account to be used to offset general operating expenses.
A full sponsor who contributes prior to the sponsorship deadline will receive the following:
Listing on a Green Mountain Baseball Master Banner (optional, see Sponsorship Uses)
Listing on the GMJBA Web Site under Sponsors.
A sponsor plaque with team photo.
A donation letter for tax purposes.
A full sponsor who contributes after the sponsorship deadline will receive a donation letter for tax purposes only, listing on the GMJBA Web site, and placement on an affiliated or unaffiliated master banner (no sponsor plaque with team picture will be provided). In subsequent year a sponsor will remain a full sponsor with a $200.00 donation.
A partial sponsor will be given a donation letter only.
Any other considerations may be handled directly by the benefiting team.
Banners shall be purchased with sponsorship funds by GMJBA and will remain the property of GMJBA. Banners shall be used to advertise the name of the sponsor. GMJBA has the right to control the size, content, and language used on any banner. Banners must be displayed by the benefiting team at all JCJBL league games.
At the conclusion of the baseball season, all banners must be returned to the Sponsorship Director, unless a team receives permission from the sponsorship director in which case the banner may be kept with the sponsor or with the team parent.
